On the morning of July 26th, 2014,the opening ceremony of 2014“Goldym . Wide Star”Cup the 4th Beijing International Wushu Culture Exchange Conference & the 3rd "Global Kungfu Website cup"World Kungfu Championship grandly opened in Beijing Changping Stadium. In order to thoroughly study and apply the spirit of the Central Committee, promote great development and prosperity of socialist culture ,in response to the call of the construction of a gathering city for international activities and culture center of global influence from Beijing municipal government and to promote the development of Beijing martial arts and the exchanges among martial arts players and lovers from all the countries as well as to make Chinese martial arts known to the world, showing Beijing’s outlook as a both cultural ancient city and a modernized metropolis, guided by the "Great Wushu Thought" promoted by the Chairman of Chinese Wushu Association, Mr.Gao Xiaojun, the first session of Beijing International Wushu Culture Exchange Conference was originally created and schemed by Fu Biao himself in 2011 .
After three terms of temper, WKC has developed into one of the top brands of martial arts activities at home and abroad . thousands of athletes from home and overseas have come to take part in the championships. Either in number of countries, teams, or in the number of the participants, WKC can be the first level among all the International Wushu Conferences, and the international influence is steadily on the increase.
On the opening ceremony, Chairman of Chinese Wushu Association, Director of Wushu Sports Management Center of State General Administration of Sports, Mr. Gao Xiaojun awarded the conference flag to Chairman of the Organizing Committee of conference, Mr.Fu Biao.
Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau ,Mr. Yuan Zhenzhou addressed the welcome speech.
Later on,on behalf of the foreign friends, president of European Kungfu Federation Mr. Nicolay delivered a speech.
Then the floor was given to UN Envoy of Friendship, Vice Chairman of Chinese Wushu Association, President of International Kungfu Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of 2014 the forth Beijing International Wushu Culture Exchange Conference &the 3rd International Kungfu Championship, Mr.Fu Biao to deliver the opening speech .
Fu Biao said:Wu has originated in China but belongs to the world! It belongs to sports but is superior to sports! Martial Arts is the identity of thought and body language. It is an integration of art and aesthetics, strength and mastery! Wushu is a kind of skill that helps a person develop the coordination and action between the brain and body. By increasing the level of the state`s culture, the high level of national thinking can be achieved. Thanks to Wushu it is possible to lift national spirit. A nation with deep thinking is the nation with dreams, goals and hopes. Only with national spirit can a country become stronger and stronger.
Wen Mr. Fu Biao's speech was over,Gao Xiaojun,Chairman of Chinese Wushu Association, Director of Wushu Sports Management Center of State General Administration of Sports, declared the opening of 2014 the 4th Beijing International Wushu Culture Exchange Conference &the 3rd International Kungfu Championship.
This conference has attracted from the United States, Britain, Russia, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Italy, Ukraine, South Korea, Brazil, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and so on more than 70countries, domestic and 31 provinces, cities and autonomous regions and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions of more than 400 teams, nearly 10 thousand players to compete.
Many countries have sent their strongest athletes team to compete , some teams have arrived in Beijing for one month in advance, the players having been doing careful preparation for the contest.
Competition organizing committee set up all kinds of wushu competitions, sanda, taekwondo competitions, taiji pushing hands game, wrestling, and all kinds of folk traditional wushu.
During the conference, the organizing committee will hold International Kungfu Summit Forum, International Kungfu Convention and other activities to promote and display of the Chinese Wushu sport concept and culture connotation, let participants to fully experience the characteristics and charm of Beijing.
