In order to respond to the call of “building a gathering city of international operations and world-influential center” proposed by Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Government,the third Beijing International Wushu Culture Exchange Conference will be held in Changping Stadium of Beijing on July 16-20,2013. This great event aims to demonstrate Chinese Wushu culture to the whole world and show the features of Beijing as an ancient capital and international city to the world. Friendly envoy of the United Nations,vice-chairman of Chinese Wushu Association,chairman of International Kungfu Federation Mr.Fu Biao once said,"Martial arts originated from China but belong to the world,part of sports but above sports. Wushu is a combination of mind and body language, a combination of art and aesthetics, a combination of strength and skills, a kind of sport for developing the brain and body, and a kind of science technology for boosting spirits of human. The promotion of a national culture can sublimate national spirit; the promotion of wushu can enhance national spirit of a nation. A thoughtful nation has their own ideality, goals and hopes. A country that have national spirit will be stronger and stronger."
There are 307 teams from 60 countries and regions of five continents, domestic 25 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, more than 5000 martial arts enthusiasts participated in the conference. The leadership of State Sports General Bureau and the Chinese wushu association, martial arts organization leadership of part of the member states, international and domestic well-known martial arts experts, martial arts masters and the local government leaders attended the grand opening ceremony, and the scene is very spectacular. It is an orderly and competitive competition, the athletes in the high strength competition learn from each other, and has obtained the good result, martial arts skills is better than the previous session, martial arts kung fu star continuously appeared, truly reflects the Olympic spirits of higher, faster and stronger.
