Cui Zhongsan was born in 1948 in Beijing. Born in a family specialized in Taiji Quan, he got a bachelor in Beijing Unversity of Sports and seventh degree of Chinese Wushu grading system, and he is one wushu refree of National First Grade. Cui Zhongsan learnt wushu and Yang Style Taiji from his grandfather in his childhood and now he has over 40 years of experiences. His grandfather is Cui Lizhi (also called as Cui Yishi) was a disciple of Yang Chengpu, one Taiji master and one fourth disciple of Yang Luchan and one major successor of Yang Style Taiji Quan in Beijing.
Since he won the champion of Taiji QuanYouth Competition, Cui Zhongsan began taking part in various Taiji Quan competitions. In 1960 he was enrolled into Beijing Youth Amateur Wushu School for training and he got the Taiji Quan champion of Beijing Wushu Tournament that year.Then he won the second place in Taiji match in Beijing Sixth Sports Meeting in 1982, two-time Taiji Champion of Beijing Wushu Competition in 1985 and 1986, the Second place of Taiji sword playing championship in 1986. And Cui became wushu coach for Beijing Taiji sword playing team in 1986. Then he indulged himself into teaching and training for young students and referee for national and international wushu matches and brings up numerous wushu champions in these years who won much glory for the team and nation.
