Knock and Hit, as one type of hard Qigong, means to enhance the ability of counteracting hitting and beating by means of striking body by oneself. The main principle of it is progressing gradually, with the weapons from soft to hard, from dull to sharp. For example, firstly, knock the body with a short wood stick, then with bricks, then with iron bricks, in the end with steel sword. The force and number of hitting is increased according to the people’s physical condition.
In the practice, the breath and notion should cooperate with the hitting. When you hit to body, you take a breath; and then you aspirate. Sand bags, iron brooms, steel rulers, and three-section staff is also used for this practice.
